Consumer Product Safety Commission has identified samples of Knauf Plasterboard (2005), Taian Taishan Plasterboard (2006), Shandong Chenxiang GBM (2009), and Beijing New Building Materials (2009), among other Chinese manufacturers, with high emissions of corrosive sulfur gases. However, some of these and other Chinese drywall manufacturers have also produced drywall materials with low or no detectable emissions.

While it appears that 2005/2006 are the identifying periods of problem drywall, both Taian Taishan Plasterboard (2009) and Shandong Taihe Dongxn Co.(2009) are also within the top 10 CPSC listed for the highest emissions of reactive sulfide.
